Colter the WR, Badgers galore…thoughts from Mobile

COLTER THE RECEIVER:

Northwestern’s Kain Colter will only play receiver this week in Mobile. Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage told him during the invite: “A lot of NFL teams want to see you at receiver.”

A snippet from our interview Tuesday:

“Wherever they want me at — I can show where I am the most versatile,” Colter said.  “I never really had time to focus on the receiver position. I was always in the QB room or doing QB drills. Now I can really learn the position.”

BADGERS TAKING OVER MOBILE:

Five Wisconsin players are here. The most of any B1G team, or any other school.

RB James White is determined to be one of the Wisconsin running backs who will succeed in the NFL, adding he was involved in pass protect in Madison a majority of the time.

WR Jared Abbrederis has impressed already early this week. He is mostly playing outside receiver, and on Tuesday, he said he is comfortable playing slot or boundary at the next level.

Abbrederis also used to catch passes from Russell Wilson, who obviously is rather busy these days. The two have not talked since Seattle’s NFC win over the weekend. “I haven’t talked to him yet, He’s got so many people blowing him up right now, I will let the week go by.”

More on LB Chris Borland Wednesday …

LEWIS LOOKING TO IMPRESS:

MSU’s Isaiah Lewis is on a mission to prove he belongs in the NFL. “I want to prove you don’t have to be the biggest, that what matters comes from the heart.”

One of the hardest hitters coming out of the B1G this year, Lewis wants to remind those this week of his other skills. “A lot of people forget I am a good cover guy.”

He also stressed to me Tuesday his best 40 time is 4.4
